Jorge Contreras
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇲🇽 Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico
- Tlaquepaque Workshop
- 1991 to 2004
- Spanish
I've worked in weaving from 1991 to 2004. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 420 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
What gifts mean to Jorge: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
