John R. Carpenter
Tabla player and teacher in Chicago
- 🇺🇸 Chicago, Illinois, United States
- Chicago St. Anne's Quartet
- Since 1998
- English
I've played tabla since 1998, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I fix old bicycles.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about John
If you ever danced at one of my shows, I hope it was a good night.
What gifts mean to John: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
