I work mostly in printmaking, sometimes digital art. My first show was in 1986 at Little Dar es Salaam Gallery, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. Most of my work is inspired by folk tales I grew up with. I run most mornings. I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to John: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
