I've coached chess at Kasarani Victory Boxing Gym since 1980. Most of my players were between 12 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about John
If you played for me, you probably remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand.
What gifts mean to John: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
