I coached netball at Quezon City Bamboo Sports Club from 1984 to 2005. Most of my players were between 10 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
