Jepkoech Nakato Rashidi

Youth rowing coach and mentor

  • 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Dar es Salaam Athletic Club
  • 1996 to 2023
  • English, Swahili
I coached rowing at Dar es Salaam Athletic Club from 1996 to 2023. Most of my players were between 10 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.

I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
