I've spent 28 years as a lecturer in political science at Eastgate College in Santa Fe. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer. It sounds small, but students remember small things.
What gifts mean to Javier: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
