Janet Namukasa Kimaro
Accordion and sitar teacher
- 🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
- 1980 to 2003
- English, Spanish
I play accordion and sitar. I started in 1980 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 9 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Janet
I wrote my first song when I was 14. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Janet: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.
