Janaka Ranasinghe
Master of auto repair, now teaching apprentices
- 🇱🇰 Jaffna, Northern, Sri Lanka
- Old Jaffna Shop
- 1991 to 2002
- English, Sinhala
My trade is auto repair. I opened my own shop in 1991 in Jaffna and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Janaka: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
