I coached chess at Northside Community Club from 1987 to 2011. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
More about Jagadish
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Jagadish: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
