For 43 years I've run the chess program at Oakland Boxing Gym in Oakland. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
What gifts mean to Jack: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.

You coached me in 1985. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Ikeja.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
