I've been a nurse for 31 years, most of them in neonatal care at St. Mary's Community Hospital in San Jose. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
