Isla B. Powers
Volunteer mentor with Akron Association
- 🇺🇸 Akron, Ohio, United States
- Akron Association
- Since 1995
- English
For 31 years I've mentored people in leadership and public speaking. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I'm always reading two books at once.
More about Isla
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Isla: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
