Ishrat Chowdhury
36 years teaching English literature in Gazipur
- 🇧🇩 Gazipur, Dhaka, Bangladesh
- Since 1986
- English, French
For 40 years I have been the English literature teacher at Gazipur Secondary School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Ishrat: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
