I coached chess at Mumbai Youth Club from 2004 to 2017. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Ishita: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
