I've been a nurse for 35 years, most of them in emergency care at Fairview Maternity Hospital in Québec. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I walk the dog by the river.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
