I taught English literature at Hope Middle School in Cali from 1987 to 2009. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 700 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Isabel: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me English literature in 2005 at Hope Middle School. I still remember that terrible school play.
