Isaac Austin
First-generation students mentor, Swansea
- 🇬🇧 Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom
- Swansea Foundation
- 1998 to 2021
- English
For 23 years I've mentored people in first-generation students and teaching. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Isaac
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Isaac: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
