I've coached rowing at Amsterdam Youth Club since 2015. Most of my players were between 9 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. My door was open at lunch. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
