Iqra Memon

Master of shoemaking, now teaching apprentices

  • šŸ‡µšŸ‡° Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan
  • 1984 to 2021
  • English, Urdu
My trade is shoemaking. I opened my own shop in 1984 in Faisalabad and I'm still there most mornings. Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

More about Iqra

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Iqra: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
