Ihaia M. Pomare

Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices

  • 🇳🇿 Manukau, Auckland, New Zealand
  • Manukau Works
  • 1990 to 2022
  • English
I've worked in weaving from 1990 to 2022. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 860 apprentices. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 24 years later for another job.

More about Ihaia

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
