Ife Esther Obi
Master of carpentry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Gwagwalada, Abuja FCT, Nigeria
- Gwagwalada Workshop
- Since 1994
- English, Hausa, French
I've worked in carpentry since 1994. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 640 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Ife
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Ife: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
