Idowu Nkechi Ajayi
Tabla player and teacher in Epe
- 🇳🇬 Epe, Lagos, Nigeria
- Epe Band
- Since 1980
- English
I've played tabla since 1980, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I teach about 20 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I fix old bicycles.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Idowu
I write my first song when I was 15. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Idowu: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.
