Ida Astrid Håkansson
Swimming coach, Gothenburg Community Club

I've coached swimming at Gothenburg Community Club since 1992. Most of my players were between 11 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ida
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Ida: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
