Ibrahim Danjuma Okonkwo
Musician with Acacia Band
- 🇳🇬 Epe, Lagos, Nigeria
- Acacia Band
- 1983 to 2016
- English, Igbo
I play songwriting and traditional drumming. I started in 1983 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 8 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ibrahim
I wrote my first song when I was 18. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Ibrahim: A gift would go toward new strings, repairs and music for my students.
