Hyun-jun Joo
Master of bicycle repair, now teaching apprentices
- 🇺🇸 Boston, Massachusetts, United States
- The Central Workshop
- Since 1978
- English, Korean
I've worked in bicycle repair since 1978. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 1,630 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
More about Hyun-jun
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Hyun-jun: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
