Howard K. Douglas
Coached rowing for 31 years in Glendale
- 🇺🇸 Glendale, Arizona, United States
- Glendale Swimming Club
- 1981 to 2012
- English, Spanish
I coached rowing at Glendale Swimming Club from 1981 to 2012. Most of my players were between 11 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Howard
If you played for me, you probably remember the last day before the summer holidays.
What gifts mean to Howard: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
