I'm a cross country coach. I never went pro, but I got to see 860 kids fall in love with the game.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Howard
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Howard: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
