Hiwot Berhe
38 years teaching physical education in Mekelle
- 🇪🇹 Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia
- Mekelle Middle School
- Since 1992
- English, Amharic
I came to teaching late, after working as a mechanic, and 34 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I've coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Hiwot
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

I failed physical education twice before you. After you I passed with a B. Thank you. Greetings from Berlin.

you taught me physical education in 2009 at Mekelle Middle School. I still remember the long bus ride home.
