Hiroshi Riku Okamoto

32 years teaching art in Osaka

  • 🇯🇵 Osaka, Osaka, Japan
  • Westbrook Secondary School
  • Since 1989
  • Japanese, Spanish
I teach art at Westbrook Secondary School in Osaka since 1989. Most days I teach Grade 11, and my door is open at lunch. Over the years I've had 1,630 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

More about Hiroshi

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Hiroshi: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
