Hira Anum Ali
Shoemaking for 23 years in Peshawar
- 🇵🇰 Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
- Since 2003
- English, Urdu
I've worked in shoemaking since 2003. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 440 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Hira
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Hira: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
