Baking for eight years in Mbale
- 🇺🇬 Mbale, Eastern Region, Uganda
- Windsor Works
- 2015 to 2023
- English, Swahili
I've worked in baking from 2015 to 2023. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 300 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Hellen
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Hellen: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.

You fixed our roof in 2015 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Rome.
