For twelve years I was the biology teacher at Los Angeles Public School. I taught mixed-ability classes and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I coached the school's football team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Heather
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Heather: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
