Hauwa Chiamaka Okafor
Master of pottery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
- Lagos Works
- Since 2009
- English
My trade is pottery. I opened my own shop in 2009 in Lagos and I'm still there most mornings.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 12 years later for another job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Hauwa
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Hauwa: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
