Hamisi Karanja

Master of tiling, now teaching apprentices

🇺🇬 Jinja, Eastern Region, Uganda
Little Jinja Trades Guild
Since 1985
English

I've worked in tiling since 1985. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 2,420 apprentices. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 24 years later for another job. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

Tiling

What gifts mean to Hamisi: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
