I taught Spanish at Lagos Middle School in Lagos from 1989 to 2017. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Halima
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
