Haile Gebre Assefa
Pottery for 31 years in Hawassa
- 🇪🇹 Hawassa, Sidama, Ethiopia
- Hawassa Shop
- 1984 to 2015
- English, Amharic
I've worked in pottery from 1984 to 2015. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 680 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I like to keep things simple and honest.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Haile
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Haile: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
