For 37 years I've run the cross country program at Bakersfield St. Joseph's Community Club in Bakersfield. We trained 4 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
