Habtamu Abebe Taye
30 years teaching special education in Addis Ababa
- 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Addis Ababa Girls' School
- Since 2009
- English
I came to teaching late, after working as a waiter, and 17 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 370 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Habtamu: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
