My trade is shoemaking. I opened my own shop in 1984 in Newcastle upon Tyne and I'm still there most mornings.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 23 years later for another job.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Grace
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Grace: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
