Githinji Samuel Opio
34 years teaching geography in Nairobi
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Since 1996
- English, Swahili
I teach geography at Maple Ridge Secondary School in Nairobi since 1996. Most days I teach Grade 6, and I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I've coached the school's basketball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Githinji
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Githinji: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
