Githinji Opio Kioko
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Machakos, Machakos, Kenya
- Old Trinity Repairs
- Since 1999
- English
My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 1999 in Machakos and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Githinji: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
