I taught English literature at Accra Grammar School in Accra from 1999 to 2012. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's basketball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Gifty
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
