Gheorghe Ștefan Avram
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇷🇴 Cluj-Napoca, Cluj, Romania
- Harmony Sports Club
- 2001 to 2025
- English
For 24 years I ran the chess program at Harmony Sports Club in Cluj-Napoca. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
More about Gheorghe
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Gheorghe: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
