Gerhard Coetzee
Local pottery and baking
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- The Johannesburg Workshop
- 1981 to 1997
- English
I've worked in pottery from 1981 to 1997. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 780 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.
More about Gerhard
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Gerhard: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
