I've been a nurse for 22 years, most of them in cardiology at Bamboo Children's Hospital in Oakland. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
