Gayan Chamara Pathirana
Home economics and geography teacher, Kandy
- 🇱🇰 Kandy, Central, Sri Lanka
- Liberty High School
- Since 2017

For nine years I have been the home economics teacher at Liberty High School. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 370 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Gayan
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Gayan: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
