Gashaw Ephrem Belay
13 years teaching environmental science in Jimma
- 🇪🇹 Jimma, Oromia, Ethiopia
- Jimma High School
- 1990 to 2014

I came to teaching late, after working as a mechanic, and 24 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Gashaw
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Gashaw: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
