I taught biology at Kano Boys' School in Kano from 1980 to 2008. Most days I taught teenagers, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 870 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
