Garba Gbenga Akinwale
22 years teaching environmental science in Lagos
- 🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
- Victory Boys' School
- 1992 to 2013
- English, Hausa
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 21 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Garba
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

I was in your Grade 6 class in 2002. You believed I could do it before I did Greetings from Khon Kaen.

You taught me environmental science in 1999 at Victory Boys' School. I still remember the day the fire alarm went off during the exam. Truly.
